DLC Spirit Board

Work in progress

If you purchased any of the Challenger Packs or the Fighter's Pass, you will unlock the special DLC spirit board. There are 5 different boards here, 3 of which are currently playable, and the spirits there stay forever without switching to a different spirit. They can all be battled as soon as you enter the board, and are not effected by spirit board events. You cannot use board items, but you can use battle items, and you do not have to do the "Free the Spirit" mini-game to obtain the spirit. Here, I will provide walkthroughs for all the DLC Spirit Board fights.

First, here is a list of all the spirits you can obtain.

Joker Challenger Pack
  • Morgana
  • Ryuji Sakamoto
  • Ann Takamaki
  • Yusuke Kitagawa
  • Makoto Niijima
  • Futaba Sakura
  • Haru Okumura
  • Goro Akechi
  • Caroline and Justine
  • Igor
  • Phantom Thieves of Hearts
Hero Challenger Pack

  • Slime
  • Dracky
  • Golem
  • Liquid Metal Slime
  • Great Sabercub
  • Cetacea
  • Hero's Comrades

Here are strategies for each battle.

Spirit Battle: Morgana
Primary Grab
11500 Power

This is a very difficult Ace spirit battle, and the power level is almost strong enough to call Morgana a 4 ⭐. Pikachu will be acting as Morgana, and you will need to kill him to win. Soon after the fight begins, strong winds will start to blow you off the stage, so Strong Wind Resist spirits are recommended. Around the same time, an Incineroar with an Oar Club will appear and he is quite big enough to call a Giant Incineroar. He will at first, combine chasing you and creating giant tornadoes with the Oar Club. I recommend the strongest Attack primary you have that has at least 2 slots, and equip one strong wind resist. Use the remaining slots for other buffs.

Spirit Battle: Ryuji Sakamoto
Primary Shield
4800 Power

An easy Advanced fight, you will be fighting a Captain Falcon with a Home-Run Bat on a Battlefield stage. A bit later, a Giant Mii Gunner will join the fight, and you will need to launch Captain Falcon of the stage to win. Use your favorite combination of spirits to win this. Not that hard of a fight, to be honest. You will have plenty of time to get Captain Falcon to maybe 70% before reinforcements arrive. Have fun!

Spirit Battle: Ann Takamaki
Primary Attack
4500 Power

Guide History

Guide History

Version 1

version 1.0 Very little finished, bit of the World of Light walkthrough is finished, Spirit Board and Collection parts are still being worked on.

version 1.1 Spirit Board part as been updated, but nothing on Collection yet on that page. World of Light Walkthrough has new things, and I have added the Smash page but there is nothing on that page at the moment.

version 1.2 More added to the World of Light walkthrough and DLC spirit board page added, though it is still in progress.

version 1.3 No new pages, but there has been enough change to call a separate update. More added to the World of Light walkthrough, added a fight walkthrough in DLC Spirit Board page, and edited several other pages. I will temporarily take the Smash page for now, it will be put back once something is added.

Spirit Board and Collection

Please note that this post is still being worked on.

Spirit Board

The Spirit Board is a place where you can choose random challenges to obtain spirits. All of these spirits are transferred to your World of Light Adventure Mode, so the Spirit Board is a good place for grinding if you feel like you're under-leveled while playing Adventure. Plus, there is a large number of spirits that are only here, at the spirit board!

The Spirit Board is accessed at Spirit -------> Spirit Board.

So the way the Spirit Board works, you will begin with six "slots". Random spirits will appear and you can choose which to fight.

Each spirit stays for five minutes before switching to a different spirit, except for Legend class spirits, which stay for fifteen minutes. Spirits in events stay for one hour.

Another thing is that there's a catch: unlike World of Light, There is a little mini-game before you can claim the spirit as yours, after you win the battle. There will be a circular shield spinning around a model of the defeated fighter, with a gap in it. You will have to shoot the fighter, through the gap in the shield. The higher the class, however ( The number of stars: Novice, Advanced, etc. ), the faster the shield spins. This makes higher classes ( Aces and Legends ) incredibly hard to get, even after you manage to defeat them in battle. The best way to get better at it, is to practice a lot by grinding on the spirit board often. Start from the lowest class, and if you can get through the Novice shields, try the class right above it. Keep doing that, and you will get better.

Another thing: If you hit the shield, you will be asked to spend a sum of SP to get another try at the spirit. The higher the class, the more SP will be needed. The exact costs are in the following table.

                  Class
            Shield Speed
           SP Cost
           Time before disappearing
                Novice
                 Slow
             240
                            5 min
              Advanced
            Fairly Fast
             480
                            5 min
                   Ace
                 Fast
            1200
                            5 min
                Legend
        Extremely Fast
            4000
                           15 min

Adventure Mode: World of Light, Part 1

Please note that this post is still being worked on.

Welcome to my World of Light walkthrough! This guide aims to assist you to 100 the whole game, as well as guides and strategies for every single battle! This is a 100% walkthrough, so we will 100% the game as we go through the story.

World of Light is a single player campaign story mode.

To access World of Light, go to Spirit --------> Adventure.

I will give you all in-game tutorials and how to play and all that while we go through the main walkthrough.

At the beginning of the game, two cutscenes will commence. Note that for now, you will be forced to remain on the left side of the map due to a large fissure of light blocking the way to the right side of the map, a bridge in the center. To get the fissure to disappear, we need to press three switches on the left side of the map to get the barriers that are blocking the way to the Temple of Light to disappear, then head to the Temple of Light in the northwest. After beating the Temple of Light, you will be allowed to cross over to the right side of the world.

Our goal is to defeat Galeem for now, but we also have to weaken the shield protecting Galeem. This can be done by defeating three bosses on the map, each one within a dungeon reached by going through a portal on the world map. Two of the bosses are on the left side of the map, while the third is on the right side.

So, we need to beat the two bosses on the left side of the map while pressing the three switches as well. Then we head to the right side of the map and beat the third boss.

Finally, let's move on and play!

Starting Area

At the beginning, follow the path to beat and collect three spirits as you head down the hill ( Smoky Progg, Eevee, and Celeste).

Spirit Battle: Smoky Progg
1600 Power
Support Neutral

You will be fighting a Mario that occasionally turns to metal. This is a tutorial battle about spirit fights. Remember to equip the spirit you get at the beginning of the game before engaging Smoky Progg, and wait for the metal transformation to end before delivering a fully charged Hammer Flip.

Spirit Battle: Eevee
1400 Power
Primary Neutral

Another tutorial battle, slightly harder, in my opinion. Anyways, you will face off with a Blue Yoshi with a Super Leaf Power, as well as a Poke' Ball with Eevee inside. Soon a Yellow Yoshi with a Screw Attack will arrive, and after, a Red Yoshi with a Superspicy Curry. Stay on the higher platforms to avoid the Eevee, and kill the Yoshi before the other two appear.

Spirit Battle: Celeste
3800 Power
Support Neutral

Despite the sudden increase in power, this is a fairly simple battle. Basically, Jigglypuff will rarely use any attacks other then Rest. It does a lot of damage if it hits, but Jigglypuff will fall asleep for a moment, letting you use a quick Hammer Flip or Final Cutter from Kirby.

Crossroads

After this, you can fight Mario to unlock him as a playable character.

Captive Fighter: Mario
2500 Power
Neutral

These Captive Fighter sub-bosses have no conditions, so this should be a much easier fight. If you win, you unlock Mario as a playable character!

Next up, you will fight Guardian. This is the first real hard fight, so here's the advice I can give.

Spirit Battle: Guardian
3800 Power
Support Neutral

Feed some snacks to your primary spirit of choice to match Guardian's ( at this point in the game, at least ) high power level, then focus on getting behind the Giant R.O.B. and preforming a quick combo. This is a Stamina Battle, and R.O.B. begins with a staggering 150 HP to your 100 HP, so an all-out attack frontal challenge isn't the best idea, especially when considering that the enemy will do little other then spamming the laser blasts. The R.O.B. will act like it is encased in a metal coat and rarely get launched or flinch. Don't just power attack through him, since he will power through with laser blasts and rid you of a lot of HP. Good luck!

At the crossroads, there are three paths you can take. Three Captive Fighters are blocking the paths. Once you've defeated one, the other paths will become blocked by Master Hand. However, the paths will become available again very soon, so don't panic about trying to see all the paths in a single play through. I recommend going through the Sheik path, which this walkthrough follows. We will 100% the game while beating the game, so we will go through the other paths soon enough.

Captive Fighter: Sheik
2500 Power
Shield

This should be another rather easy fight, as there is no conditions like the other spirit battles so far, so you should also breeze through this one.

You will now have to free Metal Sonic to continue.

Spirit Battle: Metal Sonic
4600 Power
Primary Shield

You will be fighting a metal Sonic with a Rocket Belt. This is a Timed Stamina Battle, so it's like Guardian but timed. This isn't a hard fight, and I recommend bringing your starter primary, unless your starter is an Attack type, then use Eevee. You really just need a bit of pure skill for this one. Have fun!

 New Stuff!!!

There are some new menu options and controls. So, let’s start with the overworld interface. Most of the screen is taken up by the map of the Light Realm. You can exit World of Light by pressing and holding B. Pressing X or + will go to the pause menu. Pressing R will tilt your view of the overworld while pressing L will zoom out to the full overworld map.

The pause menu options are next!

There are three main options: Party, which has a crossed swords symbol next to it, spirits, which has a symbol that represents spirits, and finally, the Skill Tree, which has a Skill Sphere symbol next to it.

In Party, there is 2 options: Fighter and Spirits. Selecting Fighter will bring you to the Fighter select screen, though you only have access to Kirby until you unlock others. NOTE THAT FIGHTERS UNLOCKED IN WORLD OF LIGHT CAN BE USED IN OTHER MODES BUT FIGHTERS UNLOCKED IN OTHER MODES CANNOT BE USED IN WORLD OF LIGHT. Spirits lets you change your spirit team.

Spirit team structure works like this: First, you have a Primary Spirit. There are 4 types: Attack, Shield, Grab, and Neutral. Attack, Shield, and Grab work in a rock-paper-scissors pattern: Attacks have an advantage on Grabs, Grabs excel at taking down Shields, and Shields do battle well against Attacks. Neutrals do not have any advantages or disadvantages, so they are always a safe bet. Every Primary spirit has between 0-3 Support Slots. Support slots can be attached to Primary spirits. Support spirits cost 1-3 slots. If a primary spirit has no support slots, it cannot equip support spirits. The higher star a spirit is, the more power and maybe skill it has is better, for supports their skill are more useful. Making good spirit teams should be in your best interests, so experiment!

In Spirits, there are three different options: Level Up, Summon, and Dismiss.

We can now either progress to the River Woods, or head east to East Town. This time, there isn't a blockade, so we will head towards them both very soon. For now, head north to River Woods.

River Woods

Two more spirits are blocking the way to the rest of the woods: Rabbid Mario and Shinobu.

Spirit Battle: Rabbid Mario
3400 Power
Primary Attack
You will be fighting a Bunny Mario with a Ray Gun. This is another simple fight, and you just need a bit of skill once again. I recommend the Metal Sonic you just acquired as your primary spirit, buffed up a few levels with snacks. You may want to use a spirit that lets you begin with an item to match Bunny Mario's Ray Gun.

Spirit Battle: Shinobu
Primary Grab
1500 Power

A Sheik and a Mii Swolrdfighter will be your opponents, and they will be easily distracted by the Bullet Bill items that tend to be the only items that spawn. Try to get the items before they do, as a single hit should be enough to launch them to death. Also note that the AI might just self-destruct by flying the Bullet Bill of the stage; this happened to me when I was fighting this spirit. This spirit shouldn't pose to much trouble, it's pretty easy.

Now, to the west is Retro Console City, but this way into the city has a gate that currently denies your access, and to the east is a broken bridge you can't do anything about for now, so head north to Balloon Fighter. After beating Balloon Fighter, you will reach a chest containing 10 Skill Spheres and Bord and Cord and Barst. After beating them, return to the area with the broken bridge and use Bord and Cord and Barst to fix the bridge, allowing you to cross.

Now defeat Yellow Wollywog and Kid, as well as the Captive Fighter Jigglypuff! After freeing Jigglypuff, the pathway through the trees is cleared. Head through the new passageway to Fi and Heracross and open the chest beyond Fi. The chest contains Music - Forest Stage from Kirby Air Ride. These fights are detailed bellow.

River Woods Fights

( Will soon be worked on. )

East Town

We will not do everything we can immediately, we are just going to get a facility that in the long run will prove a bit useful. From after we unlocked Sheik, head to the east, and defeat Dr. Crygor and Mettaur, then fight the Master Spirit Timmy and Tommy. Master Spirits cannot be used in battle as primaries or supports, but are in charge of shopping places, dojos, areas to explore and gain loot, or, in one special case, a gym. All Master Spirits are considered ⭐, but their battles, in my opinion, are among the game's ⭐⭐ and ⭐⭐⭐. Their power levels are also similar to those you might find in Advances and Aces. These battles are detailed bellow.

Spirit Battle: Dr. Crygor
Primary Grab
3400 Power

You will be battling a Dr. Mario, a Wario, and R.O.B. It's a fairly simple battle, the only enemy you need to kill to win the battle is Dr. Mario, but if you find the others to be too much of an annoyance, kill them first, but remember you may be wasting your efforts on them. Since you don't have any conditions you directly counter with, use your best spirit team, you may have some decent ones from the Spirit Board or rewards from Classic Mode and Challenges.

Spirit Battle: Mettaur
Primary Shield
1800 Power

Pac-Man won't jump much, but does shield a lot, and this is a Stamina Battle. The enemy starts with 120 HP, and stamina ↑ spirits are recommended. Try using a strong Grab Primary with a Stamina ↑ if you have one, otherwise, use your favorite set of supports. This isn't a hard fight, you should breeze through this one.

Master Spirit Battle: Timmy and Tommy
Master Neutral
2600 Power

Two Tail Villagers are your enemies for this battle, and they tend to go out of their way for items. This is a fairly tough battle at this point in the story, if you haven't yet received any spirits from other methods. Try to get the items before the Villagers do, and remember, items spawn quite often during this battle. There does seem to be a certain group of items that this fight includes, but quite a few tend not to spawn at all. Use the strongest primary you have, with good supports to back it up.

Congratulations! You have unlocked Timmy and Tommy's location, a shop run by them. Check in from time to time on them ( You can get check in on any Master Spirit location instantly by pausing and going to either to the building with two windows for shops, and anything else on the other one ). They can provide useful items if you're lucky, and even spirits, good ones as well, can be found here. The currency used in World of Light ( and the Spirit Board ) is SP, so gather tons of it.

We are now going to head to a new area. Go back to River Woods, and head through the odd stone structure at the north end of the woods and go through to Woolly World!

Woolly World

Now, go along the ribbon and free Perry and the Captive Fighter Yoshi, and continue northwest to Elline and Joan.
